Houso is an off-market property app which allows sellers to gauge interest in their homes before going to the expense of committing to a sale. The current options available to sellers are either to pay an online agent upfront to market (and sell) their property or to engage the services of a more traditional high-street estate agent who will charge commission on any sale. Houso offers a third way - listing your home for free, off-market if preferred, and finding out what level of interest there is out there before going on to sell it - also for free, if you wish.
Houso is a new concept and a new way of doing things, so director Ben Johnston hired Bien Media to get this message out to the press. As well as commenting on various house-price indices and other newsy market stories, Houso is working with journalists in the national press to gain coverage of the app. At the time of writing - mid-February 2020 - some 7,500 people had downloaded the Houso app and the aim is to encourage many more to do so.
